Tim Green has written some pretty great books, but the final book of the Football Genius series is seriously off the hook. Ty Lewis, a 12 year old football phenom is at a Jets game, cheering his older brother, Thane Lewis, on as he is doing exceptional as the star wide receiver for the team. When Thane goes up for hopefully the game winning Hail-Mary catch, he tears a nerve in his knee that is possibly career-ending. Bed-ridden, Thane's little brother Ty has to go to a 7-on-7 try-out that could possibly be the team that wins it all, but now with the FBI on Ty's butt about the emergence of his uncle Gus being at court as a key witness to put a group of the D'Amico family down for good, he has to be a lot more careful with what he does. After Ty, Thane, and his Uncle Gus helped the FBI stop the scam the D'Amico family was doing while betting on the Jets, Uncle Gus had to go hiding in the witness protection program. With his coming back for court, the FBI is worried that the D'Amicos might want to get to Ty to get information from him. With the FBI protecting him, he is now the #1 wide receiver for the 7-on-7 team that is led by a former NFL legend and his son at QB. The team is led to the New Jersey qualifier by the legend's QB son and Ty and are now on their way to Miami to go for the 7-on-7 championship on Super Bowl Sunday. They win all of their games, but at the end of the line is Troy White, the football genius and outstanding quarterback. Meeting the one himself was something else though. When he met him, he spilled a drink on Tate McGreer, his friend whom Ty likes. When Troy and Ty are about to meet in the 7-on-7 champtionship, things screw up when they are thrown in the same chaos that was caused when Uncle Gus went for a visit to testify at grand court. Troy's dad is now mixed up with this stuff while he is trying to pay off his debts that he owes that gets him chased by the FBI. When Troy and Ty are caught by people who work for the D'Amicos and Troy's dad, Troy and Ty are in a lot to deal with, so Ty texts Tate, and she finds them and brings them back to safety. However, Troy's ankle is twisted while escaping, and he cannot play in the championship game, but that doesn't stop his football genius skills from getting tangled. When it all comes down to one play, Ty thinks of a play that Troy wouldn't even think of, and Ty scores the touchdown to win the game.
