Boost Chapters 1-7

Have you ever heard of a 6'2 8th grader? Yeah, not much huh, especially if it's a girl? Well Savvy Christopher, the new girl at Rhode Island all the way from New Mexico was a 6'2 8th grader with a love for the game of basketball. Tryouts are here, and she isn't about to keep a secret about how good she was at shooting three pointers. As she's trying out, she meets a new friend, Nina Gonzalez, or Gonzo. She tells Savvy about the Fire team, which is the great team that only had the best of the best in the school. She wasn't about settle for the team that had 16 year olds and older, she wanted to be the best. She tries out, but she doesn't do as good as Gonzo. She too tall and gangly to be trying to slide through the defense that only had the best. She showed off her shooting skills though, showing herself as the best shooter on the team. But there's a problem, coach isn't one who just wants her to just shoot, and she's predictable. Now she has to go through a hurting dad, a hurting aunt, a heavy eating sister, and her boss mom who has to practically do everything. It's too much pressure on Savvy, and she's wasn't looking to have to take on the pressure when she got to Rhode Island. It all depends on how Savvy and Callie are going to react under pressure, especially when they have so much riding on sports that without it, they almost have nothing. Let's see how Savvy reacts under pressure, because she's going to be under it a lot.
