So lately I've been reading Unstoppable by Tim Green, and I promise you it has me hooked. Let me give you an overview of what has happened, and you can't lie to me after about how it has you hooked. Harrison is a foster kid who has lived the crappiest life any 13 year old kid could have imagined. This kid lives with the Constables, which are people who are clearly not followers of Jesus, because they are total poop heads. They live on a farm, so they have the foster kids doing the hard work. When he is adopted by the Constables, all hope seems lost, until a terrible accident happens. Mr. Constable is killed, and Harrison is blamed. Harrison runs away is isn't found for 3 days. When he is, he is placed in a juvenile home until they know of something they can do. There's a woman that takes care of him, and goes and is his friend. When they find a place where he can go, they send him to the daughter of the woman who practically took care of him. Here, he seems to have a perfectly normal life, fishing, going to school, and flirting with a beautiful girl. He becomes the star of the junior high football team, where he is a stud. He had never played football, but his combination of size and speed is unmatched by any team. But during practice one day, when he is hit low by a kid who has hated him since day one, he hears a "POP" in his leg that he keeps a secret for a game. When they find out he has cancer, his leg is cut off so that the tumor is removed, and he now has to live with the feeling knowing that he will never be the same. But his unstoppable determination might just pay off.
